Interesting video. Sohal tangs are stunning fish, they are very territorial though more than many other tangs, some interesting papers written on their territorial behaviour, I have a foot long Sohal in with 16 other tangs, I probably wouldn't add a clown tang, I did get a copperband in there with them though. You are right when you say each fish is different, predicting an outcome is near impossible sometimes.
Привет! Металлическими насадками возможно повредить силикон между стёклами?
в принципе, да, но не то, что бы сильно. Лучше по-осторожней, когда рядом со швом

Take sohal out and add him to farm with clown tang after 5 days making him new to farm tank and after a few weeks add them both back to display.mirrors worked for every single fish I had but my clown tang,he’s too intelligent
My copper band butterfly fish stopped eating because the yellow tang hated him when I removed the mirrors on the sides of the tank so I went out and bought a purple tang and a clown tang so then the yellow tang had real worries so he left the copper band alone so now my copper band butterfly Fish is comfortable and eats like a monster in my tank because the yellow tang leaves him alone 100% the yellow tang is too busy worrying about the purple tang and the clown tang. He doesn’t even see the copper band anymore.
The mirror trick has never worked for me as it just raised the aggression of the fish I was trying to have calm and the fish just starts to attack everything 😂
In my experience when using an acclamation box, move the box around the tank. I think it helps so that the aggressive fish will see the new arrival in different places in the tank.
I see that the two powders were chasing each other, do they do that often or just because the other commotion going on, what size tank ?
I'm sorry to hear about your troubles, special with the copperband, I think you have done everything possible to keep it alive. Like you said, it works for some, not for all. I think a lot of times is the luck of getting a good one. Don't be disappointed. This is reefing. lot of this is hard to control inside the glass box. Give it time and try again, I know you can do it.
pity about the clown tang. would it matter when introducing both at the same time? in any case you are absolutely right. no tank or fish is the same so what works for one, doesn't necessarily work for another.
Always great to watch your videos especially when you can show us your ups and downs in the hobby. We appreciate what you do.
Does anyone in Canada quarantine like Elliott at Marine Collectors? Copperbands are so tough to keep alive long term. Tried twice and couldn’t even get them through my QT process, which included live clams. Tangs can be really unpredictable, especially if from the same family and same size-I introduced a smaller purple into a tank with a larger desjardini after acclimation box for a month and they still went at it, took a few days for the purple to acknowledge the boss. May be better to add similar sized tangs from the same family simultaneously to keep anyone from dominating the others. It’s a crapshoot in this hobby and no one knows for sure until they try…
Great video!
Hey i thin you have a dying fish to the bottom left. The other fish are picking/eating him😢😢😢😢😢
What size tank
What’d I use for a Red Sea XL nano? Idk now 😢
Just stop. The algorithm uses you to make me feel bad.
beautiful fish! and coral looks great as well. Purple, sailfin, bristletooth, hippo, flame angel, powder blue, clown, and anthias?
How tho bro? Mine be like nubby boys.
How
Acclimation box for a week, then release and add a full body mirror for a few days. Worked for me every time.
@@queencityreefs please define full body mirror
@@TreasureCorals I've used the ones that you normally lean against the wall or hang on a door. So like a 4 or 5 foot tall and 1 foot wide mirror. My stand has a lip on the stand which helped put the mirror on sideways and cover a lot of area vs hoping the fish will find the mirror and fight with it's own reflection. It literally kept all fish busy while they also adapted to the new guy when they were more focused on the fish that fought back (their reflection). Since the mirror is 5 ft long, it covered more than half of the tank. That guaranteed they seeing themselves and it following itself back and forth which allowed for it to focus on itself. In my case, my yellow kole tang. He is a bully with even blennys!
I'd like to see you succeed with this but everything tells me you will have an issue, even if you get them together now, people forget a juvenile fish is a different beast to a sexually mature fish, as they transition they can get super aggressive and all your fish look young. Would be great to see, what you need is a bigger tank :)
Fantastic video. How would you "rate" the fan noise? I've read some saying its horrible and some saying they can hardly hear it unless they put their ears to the fixture. Having the tank in my living room (with an open top) I need the lights to be close to dead silent.
It will depend on where you have your aquarium. If it is a small room - you might not like the sound. But it is not louder than other Radions I had and you can specify at which point to turn on the fans as well.
I’m a big fan of the acclimation boxes. After seeing some aggression first hand and worrying about whether or not I would be able to catch the fish, I just use the acclimation box for 5-7 days for all new fish and all is well. I hope it works out for you! Beautiful fish!
Use the mirror method to keep the Sphal busy while introduce the clown
They will eat baby mysis
Cool. I have a mated pair of green mandarins from Biota. I find that even if you have pods you will need to add more periodically because they eat all the time and will destroy the population. I also hatch brine shrimp and feed that also since it is easy to do. Good luck.
do you think it will be ok with the regular mandarin in the tank or should I have it in another system?
I could not really tell how big he was. He might get lost in the big tank but at the same time the big tank would have more food. When I got mine from Biota they were extremely small. Like the size of your finger nail. I kept them in the sump for months just to get the big enough to not go through the grates of my MP40's. They were that small. When I put them in the tank they got bigger a lot faster.
Great pick 👍
I wouldn’t do it. It’s going to destroy your tank with disease you don’t wanna lose all your fish plus you have a powder blue. Also, I’m about 4 to 5 inches. You’ll see the clowntang will go mental
Good luck! I went through it and my clown tang was a terror, killing my tomini, hippo, anthias and maroon clown. BTW, where did you get your beautiful Sohal and any issues with it before adding the CT? Thanks
Got him from Rob at Little Shop of Corals, had zero issues with him - he is small but immediately showed who's the boss :)
Thanks
Don’t do it they will never get along do your research
What research are you thinking of?
Failed deployment! Time to roll-back! 😂
ahahaha :D good one
Isolation box and a huge mirror works wonders for me everytime
Me too!
What i would of done is removed all the fish or all the tangs from and add them to a holding tank for 5 days and change the aquascape in the display and then re add the fish into the display and your good to go always works for me
Добрый день! Спасибо за качественный обзор! Флипер версии Нано не подружится со стеком 8мм? Нужно брать версию Стандаот?
Acanthurus lineatus and Acanthurus sohal it's not a good combination. I prefer Acanthurus lineatus.
A quoyi parrot fish would be stunning.
I did add him to the tank a couple of days ago, found him to be too big for this tank
@TreasureCorals Oh, so you had one in your tank, but then took it out?
@@J_ellis709 correct
Loved the fish but felt it was too big for the tank at this time
BTW, your Sohal is beautiful. Where did you get him? Also, when I returned my clown tang, he was sold to a guy with a larger clown trigger and killed it too! This clown tang was nasty
I added a clown tang and it was a disaster. He killed my hippo, tomini and even my maroon clown and square back anthias before I was able to catch him. Good luck!
Very pretty tank 👍
I would think an experienced reefer as you are that you would use an isolation box for a week or two in the display tank prior to releasing the tang in the tank.
think I should try it? I've seen them both work and not work
@@TreasureCorals I had the same problem with my extra large sohal and my new large clown tang! After keeping the clown tang in an acclamation box for 3 weeks he was able to hold his own when I released him with all my other extremely large fish. You should try an acclimation box they do work the longer you keep the fish in the box!
@@Chrish_Fish doing that right now :)
Have you tried an acclimation box? Worked for my sailfin and purple.
I would take out the sohal tang put him in Qt tank for 2 weeks and then add him back but in an acclimation box and leave him in for a week min, you could do that with either fish but definately use acclimation box for tangs, especially nastier ones like clown sohal and powders, the reason for taking sohol out is that he is boss, taking him out would tone him down a bit and maybe change your scape a bit move a few corals around so tank not so familiar when he goes back in. these two fish can exist in the same system and this is the only way to achieve this. Or even better remove both fish place in qt with glass partition between so can view each other over and add at same time into display. Keep them together in qt in full view of each other for as long as possible for best results.
I would have given it at least a couple of hours with some food
Catch both. Move some/ add rocks around and add both in same time
Thanks for sharing
Hi Dimitri How’s the Neptune NP working now? Wondering if you getting correct numbers? Mine is so off and far from Hanna and other test kits. Will really appreciate if you share the update with us
The anthias look like ghosts. Yeah the corals look good but I just can't get on with this blue lighting.
What size tank is this
